Children with Special Needs Succeed
The words “special needs” and “learning disabilities” are not always a fair description. Often the child simply is not able to learn using conventional methods. Children with ADHD, Dyslexia and Williams Syndrome succeed with the Memory Joggers method of learning. They are finally able to be competent with math and feel good about themselves!
Special Education teachers are delighted with the results of teaching math using the Memory Joggers system. Positive letters and phone calls attest to the fact of how it has benefited children with very special needs. Besides children who are developmentally delayed, ADHD and dyslexia, we have been told of children who, having been diagnosed as Autistic and Downs Syndrome, have greatly improved their math skills through the Memory Joggers system.
Why does Memory Joggers work so well with Special Needs students?
With Memory Joggers, we take something that is very abstract (math) and through stories, pictures, associations, rhymes, and clapping activities, turn it into something easily remembered.
Special needs children often have attention problems. If learning is fun and exciting, it holds the child’s attention. Students respond well because Memory Joggers addresses all the different learning styles.
Visual Learners
The brain remembers things more easily by seeing a visual image. Pictures are a vital part of the Memory Joggers system.
Auditory Learners
Listening to stories and repeating rhymes, stimulate the auditory senses, and information is quickly retained. Rhymes are the back bone of the Memory Joggers learning products.
Kinesthetic Learners
Children who learn by whole body movement respond to the clapping rhymes and by acting out the stories. Memory Joggers instructs parents and teachers how to use this approach.
